Imagine, that you have recently looked for apartments for sale in Downtown Dubai the UAE and then purchased one. What comes next? Making it your own! Adding a touch of designer chic is always a good idea. We have come up with a list of modern designers and their ideas that will fit any taste and interior style from classic and retro to scandinavian and loft.
Designers and their ideas
Life for these designers is a fun holiday. This is reflected in the design of the furniture and accessories they produce for the design bureau. We selected the most interesting this season.
1. Brass angel
Today, furniture designers and manufacturers are betting on the symbiosis of color and texture in the interior to create a workplace that they believe affects our health and productivity. It’s time to take on everyday materials and use them in the most unexpected ways – textiles, veneer and plywood, transparent glass and stained glass, perforated and laminated metal … For example, The Alumni chair, created by Dutch designers Jesse Visser and Jiki Lensink from eQ +, can be used not only at home but also in the office thanks to various variations of material and color – from black brass to white. Another hit is the retro glam Heyward Curved Sectional sofa by West Elm Workspace, which has been transforming our living environment since 2002.
2. Sofa of dreams
The good news is that this year the Italian factory B&B Italia, founded in 1966 by entrepreneur Piero Ambrogio Busnelli, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The new brainchild of B&B Italia, the Richard sofa in fabric or leather (your choice), designed by designer Antonio Sitterio, gives us every right to believe in a miracle and to test the miracle for ourselves – the modular system consists of 76 elements, from this sofa, without much effort, you can assemble different configurations, straight and angular. It strikes the right balance.
3. Star by name
Pritzker Prize-winning Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid’s UltraStellar furniture collection was greeted with thunderous applause at the David Gill Gallery, with whom the designer began collaborating in 2007 during the Venice Biennale. Inspired by antique wood furniture from the 50s and 60s, the UltraStellar collection has outdone itself with a large oval-shaped dining table with a glass eye in the center, a chair with arched arms upholstered in red leather, and a chair that looks more like a double sofa, decorated with light green or black leather; Lisse Chandelier chandelier with wings in metal and crystals, silver vase with ripples in the center from the Liquid Glacial Collection. During an exhibition at the David Gill Gallery, one Sultana called the legend and great artist Zaha Hadid “a pioneer, a visionary, an intellectual, a leader and a revolutionary.”
4. New vector
Do modern home accessories and furniture seem too simple? And how do you like this kaleidoscope of colors that shimmers with chairs, designed by Amsterdam designer Alice Lattik for the Italian brand Glas Italia? In our democratic age, Glas Italia furniture looks very futuristic, but that’s what makes it good: acrylic chairs printed on a 3D printer seem to be created in order not to be bored at home or work.
5. Award for courage
Everyone was waiting for the appearance of the Greek brand Togas in the Emirates, because it is very popular in 120 stores around the world, has acquired offices in Greece, Russia, China, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and India, and has been using more than 900 types of unique fabrics to create textile decor since 1926 – silk, cotton, lyocell, and organic fabrics. Our choice is the Togas Сouture Interiors collection called Remaster, it is like a journey through the time and space of Flemish art to the Asian school and the era of the 70s: drama and grotesque, Chinese motifs, Persian ornament, floral print on velvet, lace, and silk, the play of rich shades – emerald, fiery red and burgundy… See yourself in the Togas boutique in Dubai at Um Suqeim East Road, Al Barsha 2.
6. Future perfect
The interior collection, created by London-based designers Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levine, turned out to be unexpectedly super-modern and looks very fresh: pay attention to the armchairs, sofa, a series of tables, rugs, and lamps made of natural materials in a Scandinavian style. “When creating the collection, we thought about how we can live openly and universally, about sculptural furniture, freedom of movement, and light,” says designer Jonathan Levin.
7. Rainbow gifts
Bright carpets are back in style – we recommend carpets from the Liberty Fabrics Collection from the British brand Alternative Flooring, which has been selling excellent rugs and carpets for over 130 years. High technology and state-of-the-art loom allow designer William Morris to be at the forefront of success, creating breathtaking carpets in Salisbury from natural materials – Indian jute and sisal, made from Mexican agave leave for every taste and color. On the official website of Alternative Flooring, you can order Flowers of Thorpe, Capello Shell, Felix Raison, and Strawberry Meadow carpets: there is something to profit from.
8. About treasures
Carpets from the Moooi x Christian Lacroix collection are on the must-have hit list this season. These are finished works, and even the information that the carpets are printed using a 3D printer and digital technologies in high resolution is immediately forgotten when looking at them. “It’s like a modern fantasy game, each carpet looks like an illustration from the fairy tale “A Thousand and One Nights,” says Sascha Wolkhoff, creative director of the Christian Lacroix brand. “He seems to be inviting us to lie down on it and let our imagination wander far from here, as the wise daughter of the vizier Shahriyar Scheherazade did.”
