Why save on electricity?

Experts say homeowners can save an average of 15% on heating and cooling costs (or an average of 11% on total energy costs) by sealing homes airtight and adding insulation in attics, crawlspace floors, and basements.

Insulation helps keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer. When installed correctly, insulation can provide comfort and savings, especially during the hottest and coldest times of the year. Sealing leaks and adding insulation can improve the overall comfort of the home and prevent many of the following common problems;

– Less chance of roof/dawning ice dams in snowy climates

Types of insulation material

There are various insulation solutions, including cavity wall insulation, plasterboard with insulation (Dutch: gipsplaten met isolatie), insulation behind radiators, floor plate insulation, solid wall insulation, roof insulation, etc.

Materials can consist of recycled paper, natural wool, polyester, pir 2 sided aluminum (Dutch: pir 2 zijdig aluminium) or glass wool. Reflective insulation deflects radiant heat and normally comes in the form of aluminum foil. Reflective insulation is generally used in warmer countries.
