Injecting a Warm & Welcoming Ambience into Your Apartment

Living in an apartment, especially in the heart of the city where you feel as if you are paying more than the average for the size and layout of your home, can often lead to a lack of creativity when it comes to the décor and overall design.

However, contrary to what many people believe, it is more than possible and considerably easier than you may think to inject a warm and welcoming ambience into your apartment, regardless of size. Here is how:

Focus on the Entrance Hall

Even if you live in a the middle of a large tower block with many floors above and below, you can still make a first impression to remember as soon as your guests arrive at your door.

Obviously, make sure that the door itself is clean and attractive and that there is no peeling paint or broken sealant, and invest in some faux yet convincing flowers to arrange around the centre. You could even go one step further and personalize the door with a cute or witty sign.

Invest in Stylish Radiators

Another simple but effective transformation for a much warmer atmosphere is to replace your old radiator, especially in the lounge, with stunning column radiators, serving to modernise the space and, what is more, ensure you have more floor space too.

Another huge advantage in considering updating your radiators is the simple fact that it is highly likely that in doing so your energy bills are likely to reduce, which is simultaneously good for the environment and your wallet.

Take Advantage of the Power of Smell

Next, not only do beautifully decorated glass holders housing a wide variety of scented candles in different shapes and sizes appear warm and welcoming, but when you light one, the smell will drift throughout your flat and even onto the landing, making it a lovely way to greet your guests.

Scented candles are incredibly popular right now, not just because they make for a warm and welcoming greeting for visitors, but also because of the associated benefits with emotional health and well-being.

If you are someone who loves to bake, when you have arranged for friends or family members to come over to your apartment you could even bake chocolate cookies, which will smell welcoming and, of course, taste delicious.

Concentrate on the Bathroom

Unfortunately, such is the English sensibility that people often judge others on the cleanliness and general appearance of a bathroom, so do make sure you spend time ensuring the whole room is clean and tidy.

Indoor plants that are well-known to thrive in warm and damp atmospheres are a great addition to the bathroom, and make sure the soap or bottle of handwash is clean and full by the washbasin. Furthermore, be sure to hand a freshly washed hand towel near the sink and that there are spare toilet rolls in a visible position in an open cupboard or behind the cistern.
