How long does the Ring Doorbell Battery last

If you are looking to purchase the popular Ring Doorbell, then you must have come across this question. Well, the answer depends on the buyer himself. If the doorbell is in regular use, the battery lasts for six to twelve months. However, if the battery is in use now and then, there are chances that the battery might get drained in 3 to 4 months.

Most of the user experience says that the battery gets drained within four months. Practically, this is not an issue because the doorbell captures so many events during the day as well as in the night; this is obvious that the battery will be drained quickly. However, you can make it to the last 6-7 months also by change some settings like you may turn it off for some time when there are fewer events that are likely to happen.

Why does the battery drain quickly?

The Ring Doorbell battery needs to be recharged after a certain amount of time. This is because the device is active throughout the day, as well as throughout the night. During this period, the device captures enormous events which are happening and record it and then uploads it to the cloud.

All this process, which may seem easy, is quite complicated. All this needs a good battery of the device to do this task. In this way, the battery inside the device gets drained quickly. If you want to refrain your device from getting discharged this quick, you need to turn it off for some time.

Conditions which leads to discharge battery

Extreme Weather Conditions: It has been observed that during the extreme weather conditions, the device may lose more life than usual. During winters, when the weather is too cold, the device gets discharged quickly. Also, if there is too much heat during summer, then also the device loses its battery more than usual. If you want your device to be prevented from these conditions, you need to put it under some cover so that the weather around the device is average. Moreover, you can keep track of the temperatures on which the device almost stops working.

Weak Wi-Fi Signals:The Wi-Fi signals needed to run or charge the battery should be strong enough to charge the device. If the signal strength is too low, the device will end up discharging quickly. If you want to charge the device correctly, you must provide a good signal strength from the Wi-Fi to the device. You can do it by having a good connection at your home, or you can use a router that has good speed and signals.

More Events:It is also possible that your Ring doorbell is experiencing a high number of events, which are more than usual. Due to this, the life of the battery gets drained quickly. This is undoubtedly possible as the doorbell is active throughout the day and night, capturing every single thing, which is the main reason for using power. However, if you somehow stop your device from doing this, you will save a lot of battery life.

Increasing life of the battery of your device

When the battery gets discharged so quickly, and you need to recharge it frequently, you think of managing this task somehow. To increase the life of the battery in your device, you need to adjust some settings. For instance, you can adjust the camera settings and set it in such a way that the video quality is reasonable and the battery usage is reduced. Moreover, if your device is capturing significant events, including the false events also, you can refrain your device and change some settings such that there are no false incidents reported by your device.

If there is too cold outside, put some cloth around your device and maintain the temperature around your device as standard so that the battery usage is reasonable. The battery does not get drained quickly. If you leave it outside, then the device will consume more power and will result in the discharging of the battery.

Also, you can monitor the strength of the Wi-Fi signals. You must have heard that a low strength gives an inadequate supply, which will eventually lead to the consumption of more and more power unnecessarily. In this case, you must need to provide the right signals and strength to the device for its smooth running. The smoother the device runs, the less power it will consume. If the device gets any difficulty while running, it will consume more power, which means the battery will be drained more than usual.
